With 16 books and 50 million copies worldwide, Nicholas Sparks is a resounding success. Most of his books debut and remains for an average of five months on bestseller lists in America. In 2004 three of his books appeared at the same time, the list of the New York Times.

The Notebook (The Notebook), one of the most successful books of Sparks, was more than a year on the bestseller list of The New York Times (56 weeks in the category "Hard Cover" - Hardcover - and 54 in category "Pocket Book - Paperback). Until then, it was only the third book in 30 years to get this done and the only one to last more than one year in two categories - eat selling 10 million copies.

Four of his novels have been turned into blockbuster movies (The Notebook, A Letter of Love, Nights in Rodanthe and A Walk to Remember) and three more are coming. But the life of Nicholas Sparks was not always so. Sparks was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on New Year's Eve, just eight minutes before 1966. Nicholas spent three to four hours daily with her son in intensive care, trying to help him develop speech. Finally, the correct diagnosis of Central Auditory Processing Disorder, brought hope to the family and in 1999, Ryan joined the school in a regular classroom. The experience with her son deeply marked his writing, especially the book The Rescue.

During high school, Nicholas broke records in their school as a runner, which earned him an athletic scholarship to attend the University of Notre Dame.
