Just as I appreciate and I like the book Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt, yes "My Gospel" disappointed me completely. The book, which I expected after similar experiences to those reading "Small crimes marriage" or "Oscar and Mrs. Rose," unfortunately turned out to be wrong ... "My Gospel" is not like other books Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt's attempt at a study of human emotions and their behavior, but it is you and only set of two tales in which the author, unfortunately, in a manner annoying to me, trying to 'translate' what is said about Jesus and Pilate in the New Testament, in his language. So we have here, as for me, sometimes tasteless, variations about ...
From what I read in the preface the author, in his book "My Gospel" Schmitt przedwstawia 'their Christianity, "noting that the two stories contained therein, or "Night in the Garden of Olives" and "The Gospel According to Pilate," they are only suggestive of his vision of the events. I agree with that. Both stories in my opinion are those shallower look at Jesus and Pilate. Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt with what the New Testament did the strange stories, and although I can understand that this is how does he explain everything, I can not seem to understand what a book containing these pathetic stories? Maybe others perceive them differently, but it bothered me personally, reading about Jesus (Joshua) as a człowieczku, who founded the God in whom he does not fully believe that he would give his life for him, but instead hopes to Resurrect ... As I was annoyed! However, except as to read this book, I have too much rooted in the basics of their faith, and such restrictions just me moving out of balance, not to mention the fact that it would give me anything ...
I will not dwell more on "My Gospel" because I do not want to torment, not so much a book as the author, which is still very fond. For Schmitt's other books that talk about the problems and feelings and passions of today's people will continue dropping with great gusto, but to "My Gospel" will not return. This book does not convince me, but just this once I can forgive him ...:)
